And these words fall on fertile soil: they stimulate and strengthen the mechanism of the innate search for new information. Indeed, knowledge plays a significant role in a person’s life.

What role does knowledge play in both the human value system and society as a whole? This question is really worth thinking about. It seems to me that knowledge is a rather subjective concept for each of us. Let's say one person sees knowledge in financial well-being, another person imagines knowledge as the presence of the spiritual world, while another person associates knowledge with human truth. But, despite the fact that each person’s attitude to knowledge is different, one thing remains unchanged - it is an inseparable component of a person’s values, his spiritual wealth and society as a whole. It seems to me that knowledge is also a kind of bridge to the possession of information.

That is, the development of the concept of knowledge and its role in the value system of society and man arose relatively recently. The relevance of my research is determined by the complexity and contradictory nature of the relationships under consideration.

In general, people in different historical eras understood the value of knowledge differently.

Every person wants to be educated, to know more, to be able to do more. But the path to knowledge is not easy; it requires perseverance and perseverance. And this work is rewarded.

It’s not for nothing that there is a saying“Who owns the information, owns the world” . Knowledge makes a person a ruler; it is a huge creative force.

However, knowledge in the hands of immoral people is a terrible weapon. After all, the most educated engineers created the death machine at Buchenwald, the most erudite, knowledgeable chemists and biologists invented biological weapons.

The biblical king Solomon asked God for the only good - knowledge. For this he was rewarded with everything: wealth, wisdom, love, longevity.

It is no exaggeration to say that scientific knowledge is rapidly penetrating all aspects of life, society, and man himself. But this “education” should not give rise to euphoria, faith in the ability of science to solve in the future all the most complex problems facing human civilization. Science is not omnipotent not only because it has not yet solved many of the mysteries of nature. After all, not all problems that have meaning in a person’s life can generally be the subject of dispassionate intellectual analysis. A value judgment ultimately leads to the birth of a value, which can be either positive or negative (such values ​​are called anti-values ​​or false values). To one and the same phenomenon, say, to the desire for wealth or profit, a directly opposite attitude may develop on the part of different subjects of evaluative activity. What will guide them in this or that case?

Apparently, we should talk, in the most general terms, about the target nature of values. For a ship without a goal, no wind is fair. To a person who does not have any clear ideas about what he lives for, no amount of knowledge will be of value.

The question of the place of knowledge in human life, its importance and significance is very relevant in the modern situation. On the one hand, specialists who know their business are in demand by our society; on the other hand, the question is raised about the truth of a person’s knowledge, about his professionalism.

Undereducation is understood as a single process of physical and spiritual formation of personality, a process of socialization, oriented towards historically conditioned, more or less clearly fixed social standards in the public consciousness. In this understanding, education acts as an integral aspect of the life of society - it is, first of all, a social phenomenon. Education has become a special sphere of social life from the time when the process of transferring knowledge and social experience stood out from other types of life activity of society and became the work of persons specially engaged in training and education; when public structures or social institutions were created that specialized in the accumulation and dissemination of knowledge. Education as a social phenomenon is, first of all, an objective social value. The moral, intellectual, scientific, technical, spiritual, cultural and economic potential of any society directly depends on the level of development of the educational sphere. However, education, having a social nature and historical character, in turn, is determined by the historical type of society that implements this social function. It reflects the tasks of social development, the level of economy and culture in society, the nature of its political and ideological attitudes, just as both teachers and their students are subjects of social relations.

Of course, if it is clear for what purpose one has to master a particular subject, and to what extent this goal is consistent with one’s own professional and life aspirations in general, then a special cognitive interest appears, which gives rise to many questions, the answer to which requires increasingly deeper knowledge.

I am deeply convinced that humanitarian knowledge is imbued with a moral sense. They contain ethical standards of both their creators and their consumers. They are always built according to the laws of beauty, in accordance with the aesthetic canons of the time.

The study of humanities introduces us to the world of spiritual culture, allows us not to get confused and not lost in this world, to feel more confident in life, which constantly requires the choice of a cultural position, the ability to evaluate the phenomena of social life, and not to become part of a crowd controlled by arbitrary instincts. Spiritual values ​​play a significant role in human life; conscious adherence to them determines the dignity of a person’s life, which is formed on the basis of many life circumstances. But at the same time, it is certain that the degree of spiritual development associated with the level of mastery achieved in humanitarian knowledge plays a crucial role. In humanitarian culture, each of its components is irreplaceable and quite independent. Therefore, historical, legal, psychological, sociological, pedagogical and, of course, philosophical knowledge, etc. are important both in society and in human life. Knowledge of foreign languages ​​is important, facilitating mutual understanding between people of different national cultures.

There is no particular need to prove how attractive art, history, psychology, philosophy, etc. are to humans. its content, theoretical themes, unexpected turns of thought, its differences from the natural and technical sciences. The world of humanitarian knowledge is the world of immediate human life, both past and present, and in some respects, future. Humanitarian culture has as its subject man, man in his human society with the problems of man and the society in which he lives. And these problems can be both transitory and eternal, the resolution of which occurs throughout the lives of all generations, all peoples.

Each of us longs to become a smart and educated person. In our rapid age of computerization, the age of scientific and technological progress, comprehensive knowledge is necessary for each of usthroughout life. And this baggage should be inexhaustible.

The same starting indicators for different people do not mean that their life path will be similar. One person may stop at what has been achieved and will not strive to go further, while another sets ever higher goals for himself, achieving their realization.

The desire to leave your mark on history is the meaning of existence for many people. But caring about your fame at any cost is unacceptable. You cannot be like Herostratus, who destroyed the Temple of Artemis (one of the seven wonders of the world) in order to preserve his name in history. The true meaning of a person’s life can only be considered activities for the benefit of society in combination with the satisfaction of personal interests and needs.

Possessing knowledge gives enormous freedom - freedom on all levels. The more you know, the less you depend on what you don’t know. How nice it is to give people freedom.Can a scientist or philosopher be happy if he secludes himself in his laboratory, reading books and conducting experiments, but at the same time, absolutely indifferent to the feelings and needs of others? What role does knowledge play in human life? Everyone who thinks about this question finds an answer for themselves. For some, knowledge is power, for others it is recognition in society, for others, acquiring knowledge becomes the meaning of life. From our point of view, knowledge is a vital necessity. The one who owns the information owns the world. This is a well-known fact that applies to every person. Popular wisdom says: “If I knew where to fall, I’d spread a straw.” In the 21st century, we understand the need and value of knowledge. Without them we are unable to survive. It is very difficult to cross the road without knowing how to do it correctly, or to provide yourself with everything you need without knowing or being able to do anything. The knowledge a person possesses defines who he is. The more knowledge he has, the greater opportunities open up in his life. For example, a person who knows several foreign languages ​​with such capital has solid opportunities and prospects to improve his social status and financial situation. Today he is an ordinary translator, and tomorrow he can take a management course and become a manager of a large company. It is not only the material factor that stimulates. Let us remember M.V. Lomonosov, who walked half the country to be able to study. Two more components of knowledge need to be mentioned. This is freedom and protection. The natural scientific method explores nature as a calculable system of forces. F. Bacon sees knowledge and science as a powerful tool for progressive social change. Based on this, he places the “House of Solomon” - the house of wisdom - at the center of public life. He calls on all people to engage in wisdom, neither for the sake of scientific disputes, nor for the sake of neglecting others, nor for the sake of self-interest, power and glory, but so that life itself can benefit and succeed from it. A philosopher, like any other person who has such a treasure as knowledge, calls on people and himself tries to make life better.

Much more can be said about the benefits of knowledge, but I would also like to mention its dangers. At all times and under all social systems, learned people are never in power and never rule countries and peoples according to their own understanding and according to their conscience. This led before and is now leading to the fact that learned people are relegated to the level of ordinary workers who, for their own, even specific and complex work, receive wages or any other remuneration, and the fruits of their labors are transferred to the personal discretion of those who pay. Sometimes, and recently more and more often, the safety and lives of a huge number of people, and the planet as a whole, depend on the works and achievements of scientists. The textbook examples of atomic, biological and chemical weapons in the twentieth century, unfortunately, do not cure humanity of irresponsibility. Moreover, these people are quite consciously taught that they are only an instrument of society and the state, which can better manage the fruits of their discoveries. The power of knowledge in the hands of an unscrupulous person can lead to disaster. Therefore, I really want to hope for humanity’s understanding of what it already possesses and what it can still master. Knowledge is also responsibility.

Let us emphasize again. Knowledge is a treasure. Without them, a person dooms himself to a low existence. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) attached great importance to the acquisition of knowledge. He said: " The pursuit of knowledge is the duty of every Muslim man and every Muslim woman." (Tabrani, Baykhaki and others). Hundreds of hadiths call us to acquire knowledge and strive for it. Here is the meaning of some of them.

« If Allah wants to bestow a special benefit on someone, He bestows upon him understanding (knowledge) of religion " This is an authentic hadith narrated by Muawiyat and reported by Bukhari, Muslim and others. From this hadith it follows that those who acquire knowledge are people whom Allah has endowed with special blessings.

« Oh people, knowledge is acquired as a result of the pursuit of it "(Tabrani).

« Whoever leaves home for knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easier for him. " An authentic hadith reported by Muslim, Hakim, Tirmidhi and others.

« ...Truly, the angels spread their wings over those who strive for knowledge, rejoicing in his pursuits "(Tirmizi, Abu Dawood, Bayhaki and others).

«“ Welcome, seeker of knowledge ”, - with these words the angels surround the one who strives for knowledge. Then the angels stand on top of each other, and so they reach the nearest sky, expressing their love for the knowledge that he strives for" An authentic hadith reported by Imam Ahmad, Tabrani, Hakim, Ibnu Majhih and others.

« Whoever dies in search of knowledge meets Allah at a level where only one step remains between him and the prophets "(Tabrani in the book "Avsat").

« Whatever servant of God is in search of knowledge, these searches become atonement for his sins committed earlier"(Tirmidhi, Tabran).

« No one has acquired anything more valuable than knowledge that guides a person on the path of truth and protects him from everything harmful"(Tabrani).

« If a seeker of knowledge meets death in search of knowledge, he will die as a martyr " (Tabrani, Bazzar).

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told his companion: “ Oh, Abu Zar, learn one section of science in the morning and follow the knowledge received - it is better for you than performing a prayer of a thousand rak'ahs" The hadith is reported by Ibn Majhih with a beautiful isnad.

« There is no benefit from this world and from everything in it except the remembrance of Allah and what is connected with it, and also except the alim and the student "(Beautiful hadith cited by Tirmidhi, Bayhaki, Ibnu Majhih and others).

« Whoever learns one branch of science in order to teach it to others, he will receive a reward equal to the reward of seventy Siddiqs "(Dailami). (Siddiqs are the people closest to Allah after the prophets).

« The pursuit of knowledge before Allah is more valuable than prayer, fasting, hajj and jihad in the path of Allah "(Tabrani, Ibnu Abdul Barry).

« Studying science for an hour is better than worshiping all night. Studying science for a day is better than fasting for three months. "(Dailami).

“Knowledge hides all flaws, but ignorance reveals them all.” The hadith narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) is reported by Daylami.

« Alimas are the lights of the earth, the successors of the prophets and the heirs of me and other prophets " The hadith narrated by Ali-ashab is quoted by Ibn Adiin.

“When the Alim and the Abid (who diligently worships) meet at the Sirat Bridge, they will say to the Abid: “Enter Paradise and enjoy, this is for your worship.” And they will say to the Alim: “ You wait, you can intercede (shafaat) for whomever you want, and your intercession will be accepted. On that day the Ulama will be like prophets " That is, the Ulama intercede like prophets. The hadith narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) is reported by Abu Shaykh and Daylami.

Tirmidhi cites a hadith narrated by Abu Umamat (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “ The dignity of an Alim compared to the dignity of an Abid is the same as my dignity compared to the least worthy of you. Allah will have mercy on those who teach people good, and angels and the inhabitants of the earth and heaven, even ants in anthills, pray for him. ».

“The one who will grieve the most on the Day of Judgment is the one who had the opportunity to study the sciences, but did not” (Ibn Asakir).

« Allah takes upon Himself the provision of food for those who are engaged in the study of sciences.».

« The sleep of one who has knowledge is better than the prayer of an ignorant"(Abu Nuaim).

« On the Day of Judgment, the ink of the Ulama and the blood of the martyrs are put on the scales, and the ink of the Ulama outweighs the blood of the martyrs. "(Dailami).

« He who strives for knowledge among the ignorant is like the living among the dead."(Al-Asakiri).

« An Alim from whom benefit comes is better than a thousand Abids. "(Dailami).

“One alim is more painful for the shaitan than a hundred abids” (Tabrani).

« The level of the Alim is seventy degrees higher than the level of the Abid, and between each two nearest degrees the distance is like between heaven and earth "(Dailami).

“Acquire knowledge, even if you have to go to China for this, because acquiring knowledge is the duty of every Muslim” (Bayhaki, Ibn Adi and others).

« Whoever seeks knowledge seeks heaven, and whoever seeks disobedience to Allah seeks hell. "(Ibn Najjar).

« Whoever goes to the mosque with the intention of learning good things or teaching others this, will receive reward for performing a full Hajj and a full Umrah (lesser Hajj)"(Tabrani, Hakim).

“On the Day of Judgment, Allah will gather the Ulama and say: “I did not put wisdom in your hearts in order to subject you to torment. Go to Paradise!

The Almighty in the highly respected Koran says (meaning): “ Are those who know equal to those who do not know? "(Surah Az-Zumar, verse 9).

Allah also says in the highly respected Koran (meaning): “Allah will raise up the faithful among you in the next world, and He will raise those who have been given knowledge to many degrees” (Surah Al-Mujadalat, verse 11).

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) interpreted this highly revered verse as follows: “The level of the Ulama is seven hundred degrees higher than the level of the believers, and between each two nearest of them there is a distance of five hundred years of walking.”

There are still many verses in the venerable Koran that indicate the high esteem of knowledge and its owners.

An authentic hadith reported by Bukhari and Muslim also states that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “ An example of the true path with which Allah sent me and knowledge is the example of abundant rain: part of it falls on the fertile ground and thick green grass grows there; the other part falls on solid ground and the water collects in reservoirs and Allah makes it useful for people - they drink it and irrigate the land with it. The third part of it falls on sandy lands, they do not retain moisture, grass does not grow on them... Like that good (fertile) land are those who studied the religion of Allah, who were helped by Allah through the knowledge with which I was sent, who studied the sciences and taught to them others... Like the bad earth, to which the rain does not benefit, the one who did not even raise his head for the sake of the true path with which I was sent, and did not accept it.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Acquire knowledge, for this is fear of God, the pursuit of it is worship (ibadat), discussing it is glorification (tasbih), asking questions related to it is jihad, teaching it the ignorant is alms (sadaqah), giving them to a worthy person is an act that brings one closer to Allah. Knowledge delineates the boundary between what is permitted (halal) and what is forbidden (haram), they are luminaries on the path to Paradise, entertainment when you are alone, a friend in a foreign land, your interlocutor when you are alone, a guide in joy and sorrow, a weapon against enemies and your adornment among friends.

Allah elevates some with knowledge and makes them leaders of good deeds, spreads their heritage, people take their example, listen to their advice, angels strive for friendship with them and caress them with their wings, everything dry and wet, and fish in the water, and insects , and land animals, and domestic animals - all ask Allah for the forgiveness of their (i.e. those whom Allah has exalted with knowledge) sins. Because knowledge revives hearts from the death of ignorance and illuminates darkness. Knowledge elevates the servant of God to the level of the righteous. Reflection on science is comparable to fasting, reading a book is comparable to night vigil in worship. Knowledge helps to strengthen family ties, through it they distinguish between good and bad. They are the leader of good deeds, for deeds follow knowledge. They are given to the good, and the bad are deprived of them.” (Ibn Abdul Barry and others).
